<bonkers_blunder> (同上)

<太田>

・・・With the British National party beset by infighting and recriminations after its poor showing in last month's local and national elections, the UK is facing the prospect of rightwing activists turning away from the ballot box and back to the street for the first time in three decades.
The English Defence League sprang up in Luton last year in reaction to a demonstration by a small extreme Islamist group during a homecoming parade by the Royal Anglian Regiment.
Since then this chaotic organisation ? based largely around existing football groups and hooligan networks ? has mobilised thousands of people against what it terms "Islamic extremism".・・・
・・・the EDL is not a simple rerun of previous far-right street groups. On each demonstration there is a smattering of non?white faces and one of the group's leaders is Guramit Singh, a British-born Sikh. The organisation's core support appears to be young white men who are often fuelled by drink and sometimes drugs. But its Islamophobic message seems to have acted as a lightning rod for a strange coalition ? from rightwing Christians who see it as being on the frontline in the "global fight against Islam" to gay rights activists.・・・

<困弊盗>

 --太田さん。あなた司馬さんの掌の上ですよ。--

<太田>

http://d.hatena.ne.jp/lovelovedog/20061029/hiki3

http://tea-time7.com/2010/03/post-35.html

http://www.yurindo.co.jp/yurin/back/yurin_434/434_4.html

・・・A strike at an enormous Honda transmission factory here in・・・FOSHAN・・・southeastern China has suddenly and unexpectedly turned into a symbol of this nation’s struggle with income inequality, rising inflation and soaring property prices that have put home ownership beyond the reach of all but the most affluent.
And perhaps most remarkably, Chinese authorities are letting the strike happen - in a very public way. ・・・
The Chinese media may also have found it a little easier, politically, to cover this strike because Honda is a Japanese company, and anti-Japanese sentiment still simmers in China as a legacy of World War II. Certainly, the strike is hitting Honda hard, as the resulting shortage of transmissions and other engine parts has forced the company to halt production at all four of its assembly plants in China. ・・・
The unusually permissive approach of the authorities toward media coverage of the strike follows a decision to tolerate extensive coverage this month of suicides by workers at the Taiwanese-owned Foxconn factory complex in nearby Shenzhen that supplies Apple and Hewlett-Packard. ・・・
“The strike at Honda is the largest strike that has ever happened at a single global company in China,” she said, adding that, “such a large-scale, organized strike will force China’s labor union system to change, to adapt to the market economy.” ・・・
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/29/business/global/29honda.html?hp=&pagewanted=print
・・・Transmission factories are the most expensive auto plants of all to build, because they are huge and highly automated. Each costs as much as $1 billion, more than twice the cost of an assembly plant, and typically supplies several assembly plants. The factory here supplies four Honda plants in China, all of which have been shut down.
Automakers tend to put transmission factories only in the most politically stable and strike-free countries, because a shutdown for even a day is costly. Until now, China was seen as a safe bet.

・・・South Korean nationalism is something quite different from the patriotism toward the state that Americans feel. Identification with the Korean race is strong, while that with the Republic of Korea is weak. (Kim Jong-il has a distinct advantage here: his subjects are more likely to equate their state with the race itself.) Thus few South Koreans feel personally affected by the torpedo attack.
Besides, Koreans in both the North and the South tend to cherish the myth that of all peoples in the world, they are the least inclined to premeditated evil. The sinking of the Cheonan is widely viewed here as an almost spontaneous byproduct of inter-Korean tension - a regrettable aberration that should not be made too much of. ・・・
This urge to give the North Koreans the benefit of the doubt is in marked contrast to the public fury that erupted after the killings of two South Korean schoolgirls by an American military vehicle in 2002; it was widely claimed that the Yankees murdered them callously. During the street protests against American beef imports in the wake of a mad cow disease scare in 2008, posters of a child-poisoning Uncle Sam were all the rage. It is illuminating to compare those two anti-American frenzies with the small and geriatric protests against Pyongyang that have taken place in Seoul in recent weeks.

Gunmen stormed two separate mosques in the eastern city of Lahore during Friday prayers, killing at least 80 worshippers of the minority Ahmadi sect. ・・・
Members of the Ahmadi sect were officially declared non-Muslims in 1974 and are the generally the most persecuted of Pakistan’s minority groups. ・・・
The sect was founded in India in 1889 by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, who is considered a prophet by Ahmadis, much to the annoyance of orthodox Muslims who believe that Muhammad was the final prophet of Islam. Pakistan is home to an estimated 4 million Ahmadis.

・・・ in the Korean, Vietnam and Iraq wars, communities in the lowest three income deciles suffered 35%, 36% and 38% of the casualties, respectively. Yet communities in the top three income deciles sustained significantly fewer casualties - 25%, 26% and 23% of the casualties, respectively.・・・
