http://u_ki_6.at.infoseek.co.jp/kokoro-12.html

http://watchan.net/pd/passive-aggressive.html

<βσσβ>

<太田>

http://honnosense.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/2010/04/ust18000-170f.html

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RR4bEMF3mc

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5D2ZkCws3A

<太田>

きちんと最後まで実現できるのか(Can you follow through?)。
http://www.yomiuri.co.jp/politics/news/20100418-OYT1T00092.htm?from=top

http://www.yomiuri.co.jp/politics/news/20100418-OYT1T00104.htm

http://u_ki_6.at.infoseek.co.jp/kokoro-12.html

・・・Since the quake hit early Wednesday morning, thousands of monks have come to the city, some making a two-day drive from distant corners of a largely Tibetan region that spreads across three adjoining provinces.
It was the burgundy-robed monks who were among the first to pull people from collapsed buildings. On Saturday at dusk, long after the rescue experts had called it quits, they could be still be seen working the rubble. ・・・
One of the most persistent complaints, however, was that many of the official rescue efforts have focused on the city’s larger structures and ignored the mud-brick homes that, with few exceptions, collapsed by the hundreds. ・・・
The other more incendiary criticism heard wherever monks gathered was that soldiers had prevented them from helping in rescue efforts during the first few days after the earthquake.

・・・Mr. Tourre appears to be a small fish. Federal investigators may try to gain his cooperation and extend their investigation to other Goldman employees. ・・・
A big question is how far up this might go. The S.E.C. said the deal in its complaint had been approved by a panel at Goldman, the Mortgage Capital Committee.

・・・an obscure statute passed by Congress in 2000, the “Commodities Futures Modernization Act.”・・・
・・・that act eliminated a longstanding legal rule that deemed derivatives bets made outside regulated exchanges to be legally enforceable only if one of the parties to the bet was hedging against a pre-existing risk.
This traditional derivatives rule against purely speculative derivatives trading has a parallel in insurance law, because insurance, like derivatives trading, is really just a form of betting. A homeowner’s fire insurance policy, for example, is a bet with an insurance company that your house will burn down.
Under the rules of insurance law, you can only buy fire insurance on a house if you actually own the house in question. Similarly, under the traditional legal rules regulating derivatives trading, the only parties who could use off-exchange derivatives to bet against <a> deal would be parties who actually held investments in <this deal>.・・・
In our current regulatory framework, any issuing bank can act on all sides of a C.D.O. (or other complex security) ? as creator, trader, hedger and seller. This inevitably means there will be conflicts of interest because the bank in the middle gets paid (handsomely) for all its services, no matter what the outcome of the deal’s performance. Plus, it has the benefit of insider knowledge.

Just last week, Alan Greenspan, the former Fed chairman, and Robert Rubin, the former Treasury Secretary and Citigroup officer, said they were not to blame for the meltdown even though both prevented regulation of the kind of bets Goldman Sachs is now accused of misusing.
More galling is the constant refrain from both Wall Street C.E.O.s and former regulators that no one could have predicted the crisis.

However, the S.E.C. allegations are premised on the fact that hedge funds and Goldman Sachs itself were so convinced of cataclysmic failure that they were looking for investment vehicles that would profit each time a homeowner defaulted on his or her mortgage.
In other words, there were competent and smart people making billions because they could foresee the obvious: people with poor credit would not be able to repay their home loans.
In short, it was not that no one knew. Savvy insiders knew.

This sort of insider dealing is extremely difficult to police. We will never get to a market so well-regulated that bankers can’t cut deals for favored clients with a nudge and a wink.
What we can do is minimize the opportunities for such activity by pushing as many transactions as possible onto central clearinghouses and exchanges.

If Sept. 15, 2008, the day Lehman Brothers was allowed to fail, marks the Pearl Harbor or widely acknowledged onset of the present Great Recession (in Franklin Roosevelt’s words “a date which shall live in infamy”), April 16, 2010 may be deemed the equivalent of the U.S. victory in the crucial Battle of Midway in 1942 or the day the U.S. neutralized the Japanese fleet. ・・・
As Winston Churchill said after early Allied victories in World War II: “This is not the end or even the beginning of the end; but it is the end of the beginning.” ・・・

http://roomfordebate.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/04/16/what-goldmans-conduct-reveals/?pagemode=print

・・・Tourre may have been a lone ranger, not an unheard of occurrence on Wall Street. ・・・
Goldman started shorting the mortgage market in December 2006 and, in another part of the firm, continued to create and sell securities like Abacus. This might not be good for public relations, but it turned out to be pretty good for business.
Goldman also was not above working with a client like Paulson to structure a security ? for a fee ? that Paulson could then short. Would those European banks not have bought Abacus if they had known that Paulson had helped select what went inside it? Possibly. But no one forced them to buy Abacus.
And if the housing market had soared for a few more years, and Paulson and Goldman had lost billions instead of making billions, would the S.E.C. have filed a lawsuit against Abacus’s investors?・・・
http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/04/16/in-a-rush-to-judge-goldman/?pagemode=print

・・・for President Obama, the accusations against the iconic Wall Street institution offer a chance to revitalize a simple political narrative that he has all but lost in recent months: that he and his party are protecting ordinary Americans victimized by the economic meltdown.
Republicans have been notably successful in mounting populist attacks on the administration, even framing the pending legislation that would increase regulation of Wall Street as a recipe for perpetual bailouts by taxpayers. Now the Goldman case gives the administration a chance to send a countervailing message that government intervention is essential in the face of unregulated trading that favors well-connected insiders.・・・
But Obama has vulnerabilities of his own. Goldman Sachs employees contributed nearly $1 million to his 2008 presidential campaign, the second largest source of his donations, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

・・・fewer than 1 in 5 Americans "supports" the tea party movement in any respect, and just 4% of all adult Americans have contributed to it or attended one of its events or both.・・・
Of the 18% of all adults who expressed support for the tea party, the overwhelming majority were white (89%), male (59%) Republicans over age 45 (75%) and significantly more affluent and better educated than the majority of Americans. One in five has an annual income greater than $100,000, and 37% have advanced degrees. More than 9 out of 10 think President Obama is pushing the country into "socialism."
The survey also found that more than half of the tea party supporters say "the policies of the administration favor the poor, and 25% think that the administration favors blacks over whites -- compared with 11% of the general public."
If all this is beginning to have a familiar ring, it's because you've met these guys before: They're the "angry white males" we've been reading about since political strategist-turned-analyst Kevin Phillips first identified them as an electoral presence during Richard Nixon's successful presidential campaign in 1968. ・・・
They aren't, however, implacable foes of "big government" or even of taxes. More than half (52%) told the pollsters they think their own "income taxes this year are fair," just 10% less than all American adults. Moreover, a majority told follow-up interviewers that, though they wanted "smaller government," they didn't want cuts in our largest social programs, Social Security and Medicare.・・・
